11th. They enjoyed it so much they became the new owner of a 2005 Harley Classic Lehman Trike, mostly red, how about that. We have added 2 Harleys to our motorcycle mix this month, Terry Scott and Mary Carole also purchased a new 2005 White Harley Soft tail. Wow MTR is a diversified group.
We still can use additional sponsor/advertisers, if you need extra copies of the newsletter or need one mailed to prospects, let me know or if they have access to the internet have them check our web site, all the sponsor information and of course the current newsletter is also there.
MTR patches and rockers “WHERE WE GO ONE, WE GO ALL” are still available. @$5.00 per set.
As most of you know nasty weather cancelled our August 28 Earthquake Ride to Reelfoot Lake but it was replaced by a nice Dinner at Vinegar Jims in Arlington, TN and attended by 9 members. Our Saturday, September 4th, Hazel Antique Ride and lunch at Reelfoot Lake was a success even though it was Labor Day weekend. We had 10 members and 1 visitor attending. Pictures are on the web site.
Let’s continue to send me current news or articles, stories etc. and get involved.
The Bike Show for Saturday October 23, 10 AM to 4 PM at the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home Campus is on schedule. We will have gallon coffee cans for the donations for the Best Of Show Bike, the plan is for the public to vote by putting money in the can in front of their favorite bike, the most money wins, with all donations going to Tennessee Baptist Children Home. Also as an added attraction the children at TBCH will be decorate the money cans. Check this link for more details.

The Texas Trip had 12 members and was a great success. The Saddle Sore 1000 scheduled on October 2nd, but has been cancelled due to lack of interest.
Our first Long Distance Motorcycle Award ended at the September meeting. MTR has a lot of long distance riders resulting in a close finish. Congratulations to Tim Hendrickson, the winner, as well as all that participated and for those that have asked, this was a one time event and another one is not planned, at this time, for 2005.
We will continue to post rides/events as they come up both in the newsletter, Web Page, and at meetings. As always if anyone has any suggestions for rides or events please let me know.

though) and ate some good fix’ns including a bowl of Gumbo by Stan.
We decided to start our journey home early and skipped the supper part of the ride. Back down the twisty narrow road we go and come to another fork in the road, a 50-50 chance to get it right, well U turn number 3 occurred shortly there after. Back to the fork take the correct leg and get to the blue building, what a relief that building has become to see. Back on Hwy 69 to 64 and our nexstopin Bolivar. Here we had an accident in the gas station parking lot when a mini-van didn’t see Stan standing beside his bike and backed into him. No one was hurt and no damage to the bike so she
went on her way and so did we as quickly as we could. Just west of Oakland another mini-van trying to get out of the left lane because a sheriff’s squad was coming down the road did not bother to look and turned directly into my front wheel. I moved over to my right toward the shoulder as he finally noticed me, moved back to his left lane, let me by and then tried to do the same thing to Barry & Sharon. As Barry let him know he was number one in our hearts, Stan had slowed down and let him in behind Barry. As the squad passed by he gave us the thumbs up as if to say everything is ok, but I wonder why the driver of the van was not pulled over and asked if he was ok. Oh well all is well that ends well and we all made it home safely and enjoyed our day of adventure.
