It was another windy day but not as windy as the last two. We had eight motorcycles and one car show up and we left the Kroger store on Highway 70 at 8:30 on the dot.
Hildia did not make this ride and I was solo for the first time in I can't remember when. She had to go to a wedding. I must have missed her to because just east of Mason I started talking to her via the intercom and pointing out some downed trees. I must have talked ten minutes and when she didn't answer I figured her hose had come loose then it dawned on me that she wasn't with me and the sudden realization that I was talking to myself. I need a vacation or something.
Our main concern today was flooded roads but to our surprise we did not find any at all. There were signs of flooding and there were some rivers that were lapping at the bridges we crossed and fields flooded but we had no problems with the roads.
We arrived at the Fish Tent at the Fairgrounds in Paris round about noon and to our surprise, there was no line. I have never seen this. There is always a long long line at the fish fry but not today. We walked right in, bellied up to the servers and got fed in record time. But after eating, I realized why there were no lines. The food was cold, the fish was awful, the hushpuppies were terrible and the only thing that tasted good was the Pepsi-Cola we were served...I wonder what happened. I mean this has never been the best food around but it has almost always bee decent or at least part of it but not today. And I wasn't the only one complaining either. I did eat all on my plate but that was mainly because I was hungry...
We saddled up around one PM and headed to Dyersburg where we took a break at the Sonic. David and Chat left us here and rode on ahead. Chat needed to get home because he works on Sunday...After about and hour we took off for home. Rain threatened but all I saw was some heavy sprinkles on the 385. David said he and Chat hit a couple downpours in the city. All in all though, it was a good day to ride...
