LOVELESS CAFE RIDE

De-Brief - by: Danny Parker

PASQUO, TENNESSEE
OCTOBER 1, 2011

This ride turned out to be just terrific. It started out a bit on the cool side with the mercury showing fifty degrees. Later on in the late afternoon my gauge finally managed to rise to 67 degrees. It was a bit windy at times but the skies were sunny and everyone’s spirits were lifted by the beauty of the day and the scenery along the route.

We all met up at the old Kroger parking lot on Highway 64 about 7:30am and departed at 8:00am sharp. Our route took us over on Highways 64/100/412/46 and the last twelve miles of the Natchez Trace Parkway, which, in my opinion, are the prettiest and most fun to ride, to Pasquo, TN. We called ahead to the Loveless Café just before leaving the Trace and were told there was an hour and a half wait to be seated. Bummer. Fortunately, for all of us though, David and Brenda had ridden up the day before, met us there, and had already gotten a place in line for us so our wait wasn’t as long as we feared. Thanks a bunch David! As usual, the food and service were just great. You really can’t beat those biscuits, they’re so dang good.

Our route home took us through some really beautiful areas and roads that were just meant to ride motorcycles on. I need to apologize to everyone for making a couple of turns to follow errant via points that I simply missed on the route planner. When things like that happen they sure have a way of humbling you! I appreciate all of your patience; this is still kind of new to me. We took a break at the Baskin Robbins in Jackson and everybody enjoyed a sweet treat before the final leg back home. A great time, based on all the laughs I heard throughout the day, seemed to be had by all and it sure seemed more complete with Billy and Hildia back with us.

ROLL CALL: Billy and Hildia Max, David Elston and Brenda, Buck and Donna Permenter, Rick and Donna Hightower, Lou and Carla Nathan, Tim and Linda Duncan, Todd Simpson, John White, Charlie and Darnell Gibson, Mike and Jeanette Schmidt, Paul Romesburg and Danny and Lori Parker, 11 motorcycles and a Blue Lexus.

Trip Data : Miles - 413.8, Avg. Speed - 52.9 mph, Saddle Time - 7:49.
